nice write up! how do you feel about not having flash on it? how is the keyboard/ui for one handed use? i.e. for dialing and texting?

I didn't really want one, but now I'd like to at least try an iPhone for a week or two. I simply can't imagine switching to AT&T after being with Verizon (or a predecessor) for ~12 years. Nor can I imagine giving up EVDO on my Treo; which would be pretty damn hard to beat.

Andre,

I certainly think the iPhone could benefit from Flash, and say that as an end-user, not an Adobe employee. You don't realize how much Flash there is on the web until you don't have it. We'll see what happens, though. The iPhone version of Safari doesn't even have the Quicktime plugin yet, so clearly there's more to come.

Regarding the keyboard, I actually like it. It's not as fast as my Sidekick, and it does not lend itself to two-handed thumb typing, but it's good enough for entering notes, URLs, and text messages. Overall, I'm very happy with iPhone, though I'll admit, I'm a big fan of the Sidekick's form-factor and IM client.

Aaron,

If you're happy with what you have, I'd think twice before switching. Go to an Apple Store and play with the iPhone for a while before making a decision. If Verizon and the Treo are working for you, you might want to stick with them. I would have probably stuck with my Sidekick if it weren't for the fact that I don't get a signal in my new house. That said, I'm really enjoying playing with the iPhone. Hopefully the novelty won't wear off.

Probably a simple question, but how does one delete a song from the iPod on the iPhone? I try through iTunes on my laptop, but all songs on the iPhone are 'dimmed' and not usable. I have tried to delete through the iPhone's iPod but am unable to figure out how to delete a song or artist.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Jason
